WHY ARE YOU WEEPING?
By Rev. Oliver Castro Mutuc
John 20:13 says: Then they said to her, “Woman, why are you weeping?” She said to them, “Because they have taken away my Lord, and I do not know where they have laid Him.”
What do you cry unto the Lord? Crying unto the Lord means submission and faith. Our tears are being gathered and saved by God. And they mean a lot in ourselves:
1. Tears for God’s love – John 20:13 – if we love God we pray with intimacy. Luke 6:21 Blessed are you who hunger now, for you shall be satisfied. Blessed are you who weep now, for you shall laugh.
2. Tears for God’s presence – John 20:14 – we long to see His presence in our life. Psalm 31:22 “In my alarm I said, “I am cut off from your sight!” Yet you heard my cry for mercy when I called to you for help.”
3. Tears for God’s knowledge – John 20:15 – longing to know God deeply. 1 Samuel 2:3 Do not let arrogance come out of your mouth; For the Lord is a God of knowledge, and with Him actions are weighed.
If we cry unto the Lord all our longings, God’s grace will abound upon us.
Through fervent prayer I will always seek God’s love, presence and knowledge.
