MAINTAINING A GOOD TESTIMONY
By Rev. Oliver Castro Mutuc
John 3:22-35
John 3:33 says: He who has received His testimony has certified that God is true. As our Lord Jesus Christ had made a good testimony, so do us because we should be Christ-like. And to maintain a good testimony we must do the following:
1. Remain in Him – John 3:2 – being with the presence of God always should be our priority. This will make us fruitful and will keep us from sinning. John 15:4 Abide in Me, and I in you. As the branch cannot bear fruit of itself, unless it abides in the vine, neither can you, unless you abide in Me.
2. Be firm in your faith – John 3:25 – never doubt the doctrine of love to avoid being in distress with your belief and faith. Philippians 1:27 Only let your conduct be worthy of the gospel of Christ, so that whether I come and see you or am absent, I may hear of your affairs, that you stand fast in one spirit, with one mind striving together for the faith of the gospel.
3. Have a servant’s heart –John 3:27-30 – God must increase, we must decrease and everything will be done all for the glory of God. Mark 10:44-45 And whoever of you desires to be first shall be slave of all. For even the Son of Man did not come to be served, but to serve, and to give His life a ransom for many.
By maintaining a good testimony, God can use us mightily and effectively.
I am an instrument of God and will always be.
