THE LOVINGKINDNESS OF GOD
By Rev, Oliver Castro Mutuc
Psalm 51:1-7
Psalm 51:1 says: Have mercy upon me, O God, According to Your lovingkindness; According to the multitude of Your tender mercies, Blot out my transgressions.
Our God is a God of understanding, mercy and grace. His love knows no boundaries. When we commit sin, we should do the following:
1. Desire for cleansing of the heart – Psalm 51:2 – ask God to thoroughly cleanse you from your iniquities. Jeremiah 33:8 I will cleanse them from all their iniquity by which they have sinned against Me, and I will pardon all their iniquities by which they have sinned against Me and by which they have transgressed against Me.
2. Acknowledge your transgressions against God – Psalm 51:3-4 – in all humility, repent all sins you have committed. Psalm 32:5 I acknowledged my sin to You, and my iniquity I have not hidden. I said, “I will confess my transgressions to the Lord,” And You forgave the iniquity of my sin.
3. Expect forgiveness upon doing so – Psalm 51:7 – and you will cleansed and whiter than the snow. Isaiah 1:18 Come now, let us reason together, says the Lord: though your sins are like scarlet, they shall be as white as snow; though they are red like crimson, they shall become like wool.
A purified heart and knowledge will be upon us if we do these things.
I am a sinner and I will always seek God’s forgiveness should I commit sin.
