ALIVE AND FOUND
By Oliver Castro Mutuc
Luke 15:11-24
Luke 15:24 says: for this my son was dead and is alive again; he was lost and is found.’ And they began to be merry.
Many times in our lives that we tend to do things that is against the will of God. We lived our lives extravagantly obnoxious that we forgot God’s disappointment over us. But when things get out of hand, wherein we are bearing the consequence of our sins, there we seek God:
1. True repentance – Luke 15:20 – when you have already the gall to come to God. 2 Chronicles 7:14 if My people who are called by My name will humble themselves, and pray and seek My face, and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin and heal their land.
2. Seek forgiveness – Luke 15:21 – in all humility confess you sins to the Lord. 1 John 1:9 If we confess our sins, He is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.
3. Cleansing and acceptance – Luke 15:22 – God sees your heart, cleanse and dwell in it. Hebrews 9:22 and according to the law almost all things are [a]purified with blood, and without shedding of blood there is no remission.
4. Celebration – Luke 15:23-24 – for being alive and found, God rejoices and celebrates with the angels. Zephaniah 3:17 The Lord your God in your midst, The Mighty One, will save; He will rejoice over you with gladness, He will quiet you with His love, He will rejoice over you with singing.”
We were once dead and lost, now God has found us and made alive again.
I am enjoying the joy of my salvation because God has found me.
