YOU SHALL GLORIFY ME

Image
By Rev. Oliver Castro Mutuc Psalms 50:8-15 Psalms 50:15 says: Call upon Me in the day of trouble; I will deliver you, and you shall glorify Me. Everything in this world belongs to God. God is in control of all His creatures that is why when we are offering to the Lord it is our way of returning things that belongs to Him. To glorify God we should instead do the following: 1. Offer to God thanksgiving –Psalms 50:14 – we should be forever grateful unto the Lord for all the things He has done to us. Jeremiah 33:11- Give thanks to the LORD of hosts, for the LORD is good, for his steadfast love endures forever! 2. Pay your vows to the Most High – Psalms 50:14 – you must fulfill all your promises to the Lord. Numbers 30:2 If a man makes a vow to the Lord, or swears an oath to bind himself by some agreement, he shall not break his word; he shall do according to all that proceeds out of his mouth. 3. Call upon the Lord always – Psalms 50:15 – pray unceasingly and regularly. 1 Chronicles 16

HE HAS MADE EVERYTHING BEAUTIFUL IN ITS TIME

Image
By Oliver Castro Mutuc Ecclesiastes 3:1-14 Ecclesiastes 3:11 say s: He has made everything beautiful in its time. He has also set eternity in the human heart; yet no one can fathom what God has done from beginning to end. There is time for everything and God has set it all so perfectly. God is the creator of time and He wants us to enjoy the time He has prepared for us. 1 . Be happy and do good at all times –Ecclesiastes 3:12 – this is the best we could experience in our life so we must make the most of it. Hebrews 10:24 and let us consider how to stimulate one another to love and good deeds. 2. Enjoy the gift of God – Ecclesiastes 3:13 – this is to find satisfaction in everything. James 1:17 Every good thing given and every perfect gift is from above, coming down from the Father of lights, with whom there is no variation or shifting shadow. 3. Know that everything God does will endure forever –Ecclesiastes 3:14 – they were done perfectly by God so that people will fear him. Eccles

ROCK AND ROCKY

Image
By Rev. Oliver Castro Mutuc Matthew 7:24-27 The strength and weakness of everything depends on its foundation. Obedience is likened to foundation when it comes to the treatment to the words of God. These are the two foundations: 1. Rock – Matthew 7:24-25 – all the words of God are bound to be obeyed upon. Their intentions are directly focused on us that is why following them is very essential for us to be strengthened whatever problem may arise. Psalm 18:2 The LORD is my rock, my fortress and my deliverer; my God is my rock, in whom I take refuge, my shield and the horn of my salvation, my stronghold. 2. Rocky – Matthew 7:26-27 – disobedience is likened to destruction. Whenever we disobey the words of God we will be founded on a rocky situation or shifting sands that will lead to failures. 1 Peter 2:8 and, “A stone that causes people to stumble and a rock that makes them fall. “They stumble because they disobey the message—which is also what they were destined for. To obey or to dis

ALIVE AND FOUND

Image
By Oliver Castro Mutuc Luke 15:11-24 Luke 15:24 says: for this my son was dead and is alive again; he was lost and is found.’ And they began to be merry. Many times in our lives that we tend to do things that is against the will of God. We lived our lives extravagantly obnoxious that we forgot God’s disappointment over us. But when things get out of hand, wherein we are bearing the consequence of our sins, there we seek God: 1. True repentance – Luke 15:20 – when you have already the gall to come to God. 2 Chronicles 7:14 if My people who are called by My name will humble themselves, and pray and seek My face, and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin and heal their land. 2. Seek forgiveness – Luke 15:21 – in all humility confess you sins to the Lord. 1 John 1:9 If we confess our sins, He is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness. 3. Cleansing and acceptance – Luke 15:22 – God sees your hear

RETURN TO THE LORD

Image
By Rev. Oliver Castro Mutuc Hosea 6:1-6 Hosea 6:1 says: Come, and let us return to the Lord; For He has torn, but He will heal us; He has stricken, but He will bind us up. God is calling us to repent and return to Him before it is too late. Before we receive our punishments, we must heed to the call and the desire of God: (Hosea 6:6) 1. Mercy not sacrifice – the Lord wants love and passion, not superficial service or shallow worship. Matthew 12:7 And if you had known what this means, ‘I desire mercy, and not sacrifice,’ you would not have condemned the guiltless. 2. Knowledge of God more than burnt offerings – the Lord wants a heart that is obedient to His Word not hypocritical manner of worship. Ecclesiastes 5:1 Walk prudently when you go to the house of God; and draw near to hear rather than to give the sacrifice of fools, for they do not know that they do evil. Upon doing so, He will revive us, raise us up, that we may live in His sight. I had already returned to the Lord that is w

ABSTANING FROM FLESHLY LUSTS

Image
By Rev, Oliver Castro Mutuc 1 Peter 2:11-21 1 Peter 2:11 says: Beloved, I beg you as sojourners and pilgrims, abstain from fleshly lusts which war against the soul. Fleshly lust includes pride of life and lust of the eyes. To refrain from doing this, we should observe the following: 1. Have your conduct honorable – 1 Peter 2:12 – which glorify God by your good attitude which the people see. 1 Peter 1:15 but as He who called you is holy, you also be holy in all your conduct. 2. Submit yourselves to every ordinance of man for the Lord’s sake –1 Peter 2:13 – for being humble and submissive is the will of God. Titus 3:1 Remind them to be subject to rulers and authorities, to obey, to be ready for every good work. 3. Honor the king by honoring people – 1 Peter 2:17 – Servants should be submissive to masters with all fear. Romans 13:7 Render therefore to all their due: taxes to whom taxes are due, customs to whom customs, fear to whom fear, honor to whom honor. Doing good and being submi

THE SPIRIT OF TRUTH

Image
By Oliver Castro Mutuc Text: John 14:15-26 John 14:17 says: the Spirit of truth, whom the world cannot receive, because it neither sees Him nor knows Him; but you know Him, for He dwells with you and will be in you. If we obey and love Him with all our heart we will benefit by the works of the Holy Spirit: 1. He helps us in every way –John 14:16 – because He will abide with us forever. Romans 8:26 Likewise the Spirit helps us in our weakness. For we do not know what to pray for as we ought, but the Spirit himself intercedes for us with groanings too deep for words. 2. He dwells with us –John 14:17 – He goes and will be with us always. Romans 8:11 But if the Spirit of Him who raised Jesus from the dead dwells in you, He who raised Christ Jesus from the dead will also give life to your mortal bodies through His Spirit who dwells in you. 3. He teaches us all things we need to know –John 14:26 – likewise, He will refresh our memories on all the things we have learned from God. 1 John 2

"UNDER THE SHADOW OF THE ALMIGHTY"

Image
By Oliver Castro Mutuc Psalms 91:1-6 P salms 91:1 says: He who dwells in the secret place of the Most High shall abide under the shadow of the Almighty. If we are under His shadow we would not be afraid of anything. No harm will overtake us because He is our: 1. Sanctuary –Psalms 91: 2 – our refuge and fortress that no one can defeat. Psalm 31:20 You hide them in the secret place of Your presence from the conspiracies of man; You keep them secretly in a shelter from the strife of tongues. 2. Savior – Psalms 91:3 - He shall deliver you from any danger or hunger. Jeremiah 30:7 Alas! For that day is great, so that none is like it; and it is the time of Jacob’s trouble, but he shall be saved out of it. 3. Shield –Psalms 9:14- the truth of God will be our protective barrier. Psalm 18:2 The Lord is my rock and my fortress and my deliverer; My God, my strength, in whom I will trust; My shield and the horn of my salvation, my stronghold. With God on our side, we are in the safe place where

"BEING GENEROUS"

Image
By Rev. Oliver Castro Mutuc 2 Corinthians 8:1-12 2 Corinthians 8:2 says that in a great trial of affliction the abundance of their joy and their deep poverty abounded in the riches of their liberality. God wants us to excel in giving. He could even provide scarcity and yet we could be hardly affected if we are all givers. How to become a cheerful giver: 1. Give ourselves first unto the Lord – 2 Corinthians 8:5 – and then to those who are need. Psalm 37:5 Commit your way to the Lord, Trust also in Him, And He shall bring it to pass. 2. Be abound in everything - 2 Corinthians 8:7 - in faith, in speech, in knowledge, in all diligence, and in your love for us and grace. 2 Corinthians 9:8 And God is able to make all grace abound toward you, that you, always having all sufficiency in all things, may have an abundance for every good work. 3. Readiness of desire to give –2 Corinthians 8:11 – we must have a willing mind to do it. Deuteronomy 15:7-8 If there is among you a poor man of your

"FAITH THAT SAVES"

Image
By Rev. Oliver Castro Mutuc 2 Corinthians 1:8-11 2 Corinthians 1:8 says : For we do not want you to be ignorant, brethren, of our trouble which came to us in Asia: that we were burdened beyond measure, above strength, so that we despaired even of life. Living at time is dangerous that could even cost our lives. But God gave us the faith that we can hold on even in the toughest times: 1. Faith through trust – 2 Corinthians 1:9 – in God and not on ourselves. Proverbs 3:5-6 Trust in the Lord with all your heart, and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways acknowledge Him, and He shall direct your paths. 2. Faith through hope – 2 Corinthians 1:10 – that God will still deliver us as ever. 1 Thessalonians 1:3 remembering without ceasing your work of faith, labor of love, and patience of hope in our Lord Jesus Christ in the sight of our God and Father. 3. Faith through prayer –2 Corinthians 1:11 – the power of prayer works even in times of peril. Mark 11:24 Therefore I say to

"CARRY EACH OTHER’S BURDEN"

Image
By Rev. Oliver Castro Mutuc Galatians 6:1-10 Galatians 6:2 says: Carry each other’s burdens, and in this way you will fulfill the law of Christ. As brothers in Christ we are expected to love one another as God loves us. And we should do the following: 1. Avoid comparing yourself to others – Galatians 6:3-5 – pride prevails when you start comparing. 2 Corinthians 10:12 Not that we dare to classify or compare ourselves with some of those who are commending themselves. But when they measure themselves by one another and compare themselves with one another, they are without understanding. 2. Share to others the blessings coming from the Lord - Galatians 6: 5-8 – sow to please the Spirit, blessing will follow. Hebrews 13:16 Do not neglect to do good and to share what you have, for such sacrifices are pleasing to God. 3. Learn the art of doing good to others – Galatians 6:9-10 – we will reap the harvest upon doing so. Philippians 2:4 Let each of you look not only to his own interests, b

"SEEKING FORGIVENESS

Image
By Rev. Oliver Castro Mutuc 1 Samuel 25:21-35 1 Samuel 25:35 says: Then David accepted from her hand what she had brought him and said, “Go home in peace. I have heard your words and granted your request. ” Forgiveness is sometimes very hard to grant especially when we were severely hurt by certain situation. But as God forgives we have to do it as well. 1. Be apologetic – 1 Samuel 25:24 – be humble and sincere in asking for apology. Psalm 51:3 For I know my transgressions, and my sin is ever before me. 2. Offer peace gesture – 1 Samuel 25:27-28 – as a sign of apologetic gesture offer some gifts. Proverbs 7:14 I was due to offer peace offerings; Today I have paid my vows. 3. Bless the offended party – 1 Samuel 25:33 – with good judgment to keep him from avenging. 2 Corinthians 13:11 Finally, brethren, rejoice, be made complete, be comforted, be like-minded, live in peace; and the God of love and peace will be with you. When forgiveness prevails both parties will be loosed from bond

"STARTING A MINISTRY"

Image
By Rev. Oliver Castro Mutuc Ezra 5:1-5 2 Timothy 4:5 As for you, always be sober-minded, endure suffering, do the work of an evangelist, fulfill your ministry. All of us were called and entrusted with ministry to work on. God has prepared a process by which we have to observe upon: 1. Pray for God’s leading – Ezra 5:1 – we have to wait on God’s timing to start with. Isaiah 30:21 And your ears shall hear a word behind you, saying, “This is the way, walk in it,” when you turn to the right or when you turn to the left. 2. Act at once upon getting God’s signal –Ezra 5:2 – be mindful of the time frame and program. James 1:23-25 For if anyone is a hearer of the word and not a doer, he is like a man who looks intently at his natural face in a mirror. For he looks at himself and goes away and at once forgets what he was like. But the one who looks into the perfect law, the law of liberty, and perseveres, being no hearer who forgets but a doer who acts, he will be blessed in his doing. 3.

"GOD’S AROMA"

Image
Rev. Oliver Castro Mutuc   2 Corinthians 2:14-17 2 Corinthians 2:14 says: But thanks be to God, who always leads us as captives in Christ’s triumphal procession and uses us to spread the aroma of the knowledge of him everywhere. We, the called and selected people portray a big role to spread the aroma of knowledge. Because, this aroma is: 1. Pleasing to those who are saved and not – 2 Corinthians 2:15 - 1 Peter 2:5 You yourselves like living stones are being built up as a spiritual house, to be a holy priesthood, to offer spiritual sacrifices acceptable to God through Jesus Christ. 2. It brings life and death – 2 Corinthians 2:16 - Ezekiel 20:41 As a soothing aroma I will accept you when I bring you out from the peoples and gather you from the lands where you are scattered; and I will prove Myself holy among you in the sight of the nations. 3. It promotes sincerity – 2 Corinthians 2:17 - Ephesians 5:2 And walk in love, as Christ also has loved us and given Himself for us, an offering a

"THE HEART"

Image
By Rev. Oliver Castro Mutuc Proverbs 15:9-21 Matthew 5:8 says: Blessed are the pure in heart, for they shall see God. The heart is where our God is looking into when we talk with Him. Our hearts should always be in tuned with our God so that He can move freely from among us: 1. Righteous heart –Matthew 5:9-12 – blameless heart should always be our goal every time. Hebrews 10:22 Let us draw near with a true heart in full assurance of faith, with our hearts sprinkled clean from an evil conscience and our bodies washed with pure water. 2. Happy heart – Matthew 5:13 – blessed is the other name of happy. Blessed and happy heart are part and parcel. Proverbs 17:22 A joyful heart is good medicine, but a crushed spirit dries up the bones. 3. Discerning Heart –Matthew 5:14 – God always guides our heart and teaches us His ways. Proverbs 18:15 The heart of the discerning acquires knowledge, for the ears of the wise seek it out. 4. L oving Heart – Matthew 5:17 – heart is all about love, loving

"GLORIFYING GOD "

Image
By Rev. Oliver Castro Mutuc John 13:31-35 John 13:31 says: when he was gone, Jesus said, " now is the Son of Man is glorified and God is glorified in Him. The sacrifice of our Lord Jesus Christ was motivated by His love, faith and obedience to the Father, the God is glorified. For us to glorify God we should also do the same: 1. Glorify God with Faith - sufferings can be easier if we sought for God. 2 Thessalonians 1:11-12 With this in mind, we constantly pray for you that God may count you worthy of His calling, and that by His power He may fulfill every good purpose of yours and every act prompted by your faith. We pray this so that the name of the Lord be glorified in you and you in Him, according to the grace of our God and the Lord Jesus Christ. 2. Glorify God with Love - love should always be reason in everything that you do for the Lord and the people. 1 Peter 2:17 Show proper respect to everyone. Love the brotherhood of believers, fear God and honor the king. 3. Glorif

"ENTERING THE MOST HOLY PLACE"

Image
By  Rev. Oliver Castro Mutuc Hebrews 10:19-25 Hebrews 10:19-20 say: Therefore, brothers, since we have a confidence to enter the Most Holy Place by the blood of Jesus, by a new and living way opened for us through the curtain, that is, His body. All of us can now enter the Most Holy Place by the blood of Jesus and do the following: 1 . Draw near to God with sincere heart – Hebrews 10:22 – by having it cleansed by the blood of Jesus as well as our bodies. Hebrews 4:16 Let us then approach the throne of grace with confidence, so that we may receive mercy and find grace to help us in our time of need. 2. Hold unswervingly to the hope we profess –Hebrews 10:23 – the faithfulness is ever reliable. James 1:6 But when he asks, he must believe and not doubt, because he who doubts is like a wave of the sea, blown and tossed by the wind. 3. Spur one another towards love and good deeds –Hebrews 10:4-25 – fellowship with one another should be done regularly to encourage one another. 1 Thessal

"CONFORMED TO THE IMAGE OF HIS SON"

Image
By Oliver Castro Mutuc Romans 8:22-30 Romans 8:29 says: For those God foreknew he also predestined to be conformed to the image of his Son, that he might be the firstborn among many brothers and sisters. Our main goal of being a Christian is to be Christ-like. It is in this process that we become righteous. And this is the process: 1. We groan inwardly as we wait eagerly for our adoption to sonship, the redemption of our bodies – Romans 8:22-25 - For in this hope we were saved. Galatians 4:4-5 But when the set time had fully come, God sent his Son, born of a woman, born under the law, 5 to redeem those under the law, that we might receive adoption to sonship. 2. The Spirit helps us in our weakness – Romans 8:26 – by teaching us how to pray through His wordless groans. John 14:26 But the Helper, the Holy Spirit, whom the Father will send in my name, he will teach you all things and bring to your remembrance all that I have said to you. 3. The Spirit intercedes for God’s people in acco

"WE ARE IN GOOD HANDS"

By Rev. Oliver Castro Mutuc   Job 12:7-10 Job 12:10 says: In his hand is the life of every creature and the breath of all mankind. Everything in this world and the universe was created by God. And all of these creature were created for all of us humans. We are so special that God gave us the capabilities that other creations will never possess. And were being taught by God through all means just like the animals: 1 . Birds in the sky – Job 12:7 – will teach us how to soar and to dream high. Philippians 3:13-14 Brothers, I do not consider that I have made it my own. But one thing I do: forgetting what lies behind and straining forward to what lies ahead. I press on toward the goal for the prize of the upward call of God in Christ Jesus. 2. Animals in the earth –Job 12:8 – will teach how to toil and to guide the people the way to the Lord. Deuteronomy 10:11 “Go,” the LORD said to me, “and lead the people on their way, so that they may enter and possess the land I swore to their ancest

"TO LIVE IS CHRIST

Image
B y Rev. Oliver Castro Mutuc Philippians 1:19-26 Philippians 1:21 says: For to me, to live is Christ and to die is gain. To die is a blessing because you will no longer commit sin, no more pains and no more worries. But to live is Christ because God still wants us to be used mightily and effectively. 1. Christ will be exalted in our bodies – Philippians 1:19-20 – we were all delivered and be able to do the ministries entrusted upon us. Exodus 15:2 The Lord is my strength and my defense; he has become my salvation. He is my God, and I will praise him, my father’s God, and I will exalt him. 2. We continue to share the gospel – Philippians 1:25 – and to train and disciple as well. Romans 10:14-15 How, then, can they call on the one they have not believed in? And how can they believe in the one of whom they have not heard? And how can they hear without someone preaching to them? 15 And how can anyone preach unless they are sent? As it is written: “How beautiful are the feet of those who b

"I WILL BE WITH YOU"

And this will be the sign to you that it is I who have sent you: When you have brought the people out of Egypt, you will worship God on this mountain.” Jehovah Shammah, God is with us. As God has promised that He will never leave us nor forsake us, He will keep it. 1 . God is concerned with our suffering – Exodus 3:7 – He will wipe our tears and relieve us from our miseries. 1 Peter 5:10 And the God of all grace, who called you to his eternal glory in Christ, after you have suffered a little while, will himself restore you and make you strong, firm and steadfast. 2. God will bring us out from darkness to light – Exodus 3:8 – He will rescue us from captivity to deliverance. John 8:12 Then Jesus again spoke to them, saying, “I am the Light of the world; he who follows Me will not walk in the darkness, but will have the Light of life.” 3. God will send people to alleviate us –Exodus 3:0 – th

"THE HUMILITY OF CHRIST"

Image
By. Oliver Castro Mutuc Philippians 2:1-11 Philippians 2: 8 says: And being found in appearance as a man, he humbled himself by becoming obedient to death— even death on a cross! Our Lord Jesus Christ was born in an animal pen and not on the comfort of a palace room. He sleeps on the boat, under a tree and not on a royal bed. Because of His obedience to God, humility prevails over Him. And this is what we must emulate to meet His standard of humility: 1. Value others above yourselves – Philippians 2:3 – this is to be done by doing nothing out of selfish ambition or vain conceit. Romans 12:10 Love one another with brotherly affection. Outdo one another in showing honor. 2. Think of the interest of others rather than yours – Philippians 2:4 – this is to be done by avoiding self-centeredness. 1 Thessalonians 5:11 encourage one another and build one another up, just as you are doing. 3. Have the same mindset as Christ Jesus – Philippians 2:5-7 – who did not consider equality with God a
