1 Peter 2:1-10

THE LIVING STONES

1 Peter 2: 5 says: you also, as living stones, are being built up a spiritual house, a holy priesthood, to offer up spiritual sacrifices acceptable to God through Jesus Christ.

As we crave for the word of God, we have known that the Lord is gracious that is why we are aiming to be like Him. We are now considered as living stones and will have the following:

1. We are being built up to be a holy priesthood – 1 Peter 2:5 – so that we can offer up spiritual sacrifices acceptable to God through Jesus Christ. Ephesians 2:20-22 built on the foundation of the apostles and prophets, Christ Jesus himself being the cornerstone, in whom the whole structure, being joined together, grows into a holy temple in the Lord. In him you also are being built together into a dwelling place for God by the Spirit.

2. We are a chosen generation –1 Peter 2:9 - that we may proclaim the praises of Him who called us out of darkness into His marvelous light. Deuteronomy 7:6 For you are a people holy to the Lord your God. The Lord your God has chosen you to be a people for his treasured possession, out of all the peoples who are on the face of the earth.

3. We are now the people of God –1 Peter 2:10 – we now had the privilege of obtaining mercy and grace from our God. Hebrews 4:16 Let us then with confidence draw near to the throne of grace, that we may receive mercy and find grace to help in time of need.

We have the faith and confidence that we who believes on Him will by no means be put to shame.
I am a living stone and I will treasure that for the rest of my life.
