SPIRITUAL ADULTERY

Proverbs 5

Proverbs 5:3 says: For the lips of an immoral woman drip honey, and her mouth is smoother than oil. This is how temptation is described. It looks attractive, sweet and beautiful but in the end is bitter and awful. If we succumb to it, our spiritual life will ruin. This is what we should do to avoid spiritual adultery:
1. Seek wisdom and discernment from God – Proverbs 5:1-2 to be able to discover the traps of the devil. Proverbs 22:17 Incline your ear, and hear the words of the wise, and apply your heart to my knowledge.
2. Do not depart from the words of God – Proverbs 5:7 let these be your guide from the scheme of the devil. Proverbs 3:21 My son, do not lose sight of these— keep sound wisdom and discretion.
3. Remove your way far from temptation – Proverbs 5:8 do not go near the door of her house. Ephesians 5:11 Take no part in the unfruitful works of darkness, but instead expose them.
Obeying God will keep you from ruin and destruction.
I learned my lesson, I will never compromise my life with the world’s attractions.
