THE GIFT OF LIFE
By Rev, Oliver Castro Mutuc
Ecclesiastes 9:4-12
Ecclesiastes 9:4 says: But for him who is joined to all the living there is hope, for a living dog is better than a dead lion. God has given this precious gift called life. As long as we live, there is always hope God
prepares for us. Aside from loving and serving God as we live, we should likewise do the following:
1. Go, eat your bread with joy, and drink your wine with a merry heart – Ecclesiastes 9:7 – God wants to be happy and satisfied with all His provisions. Ecclesiastes 3:12-13 I perceived that there is nothing better for them than to be joyful and to do good as long as they live; also that everyone should eat and drink and take pleasure in all his toil—this is God's gift to man.
2. Let your garments always be white and let your head lack no oil – Ecclesiastes 9:8 – whenever you commit sin seek forgiveness from God outright. Revelation 16:15 “Behold, I am coming as a thief. Blessed is he who watches, and keeps his garments, lest he walk naked and they see his shame.”
3. Live joyfully with the wife whom you love all the days of your vain life – Ecclesiastes 9:9 – enjoy life to the fullest by loving God and loving people. Malachi 2:15 Did he not make them one, with a portion of the Spirit in their union? And what was the one God seeking? Godly offspring. So guard yourselves in your spirit, and let none of you be faithless to the wife of your youth.
4. Whatever your hand finds to do, do it with your might – Ecclesiastes 9:10 – give your best in everything you do especially for the Lord. Colossians 3:23 Whatever you do, work heartily, as for the Lord and not for men.
Live life to the fullest. God is glorified if we think of Him in everything that we do.
As God has given me this life, I will take every opportunity of pleasing Him with this gift.
Happy New Year!!!!
