THE COMMISSIONING
By Rev. Oliver Castro Mutuc
1 Samuel 16:1-7
1 Samuel 16:1b says: Fill your horn with oil, and go; I am sending you to Jesse the Bethlehemite. For I have provided Myself a king among his sons.” God uses people when He wants to install or ordain other people. And these are the things needed to prepare the process:
1. Fill you Horn of Oil and Go – 1 Samuel 16:1 - to be ready for spiritual instruction from God to do a special task. Ruth 3:3 Wash yourself therefore, and anoint yourself and put on your best clothes, and go down to the threshing floor; but do not make yourself known to the man until he has finished eating and drinking.
2. Take a heifer with you, and say, ‘I have come to sacrifice to the Lord –1 Samuel 16:2b – give a sacrifice of praise unto the Lord. Psalm 50:23 The one who offers thanksgiving as his sacrifice glorifies me; to one who orders his way rightly I will show the salvation of God!”
3. You shall anoint for Me the one I name to you – 1 Samuel 16:3 – render the anointing process through the power of the Name of Jesus. Exodus 4:15 You shall speak to him and put the words in his mouth, and I will be with your mouth and with his mouth and will teach you both what to do.
The anointing comes from the Lord and He pours it through His leaders for the commissioning.
I am commissioned and ready to do the will of God every time.
