THE POWER OF UINITY

Ecclesiastes 4:8-12

1 Corinthians 1:10 says: Now I plead with you, brethren, by the name of our Lord Jesus Christ, that you all speak the same thing, and that there be no divisions among you, but that you be perfectly joined together in the same mind and in the same judgment.

There is power in unity. If one is alone it leads to vanity and grave misfortune. But unity leads to the following:

1. Produces good results –Ecclesiastes 4:9 – good reward for their labor as they do it in unison. Haggai 1:14 So the Lord stirred up the spirit of Zerubbabel the son of Shealtiel, governor of Judah, and the spirit of Joshua the son of Jehozadak, the high priest, and the spirit of all the remnant of the people; and they came and worked on the house of the Lord of hosts, their God.

2. If one falls, the other lift him up – Ecclesiastes 4:10 – they support each other as they bond. Isaiah 35:3-4 Strengthen the weak hands, And make firm the feeble knees. Say to those who are fearful-hearted, “Be strong, do not fear! Behold, your God will come with vengeance, with the recompense of God; He will come and save you.”

3. If two lie down together, they will keep warm – Ecclesiastes 4:11 – the cold heart is being spurred by the blaze of the other to rise up. Galatians 6:1 Brethren, if a man is overtaken in any trespass, you who are spiritual restore such a one in a spirit of gentleness, considering yourself lest you also be tempted.

As the threefold cord is not quickly broken, unity is power.
