OVERCOMING EVIL WITH GOOD

Romans 12:9-21

Romans 12: 21 says: Do not be overcome by evil, but overcome evil with good.

Evil schemes are rampant that if we are complacent, we will trapped and got caught by it. To overcome evil we must do the following:

1. Let love be without hypocrisy –Romans 12:9-10 – by kindly affectionate to one another with brotherly love. 1 Peter 1:22 Since you have purified your souls in obeying the truth through the Spirit in sincere love of the brethren, love one another fervently with a pure heart.

2. Serve the Lord wholeheartedly – Romans 12:11-12 – by means of continuing steadfastly in prayer. John 12:26 If anyone serves Me, let him follow Me; and where I am, there My servant will be also. If anyone serves Me, him My Father will honor.

3. Be of the same mind toward one another -Romans 12:13-18 - live peaceably with all men. 1 Peter 3:8 Finally, all of you be of one mind, having compassion for one another; love as brothers, be tenderhearted, be courteous.

4. Do not avenge yourselves – Romans 12:19-20 - If your enemy is hungry, feed him. 1 Thessalonians 4:6 that no one should take advantage of and defraud his brother in this matter, because the Lord is the avenger of all such, as we also forewarned you and testified.

God is always on our side if we keep on doing good things instead of the evil things.
I would rather do what God wants me to do to overcome evil in my life.
