SON OF THE LIVING GOD

Text: Matthew 16:13-21


Matthew 16:16 says: Simon Peter answered and said, “You are the Christ, the Son of the living God.” The question “who is Jesus Christ to you” keeps getting clearer and clearer because God allows us to know Him if we really want it. Here are some facts of the Son of the Living God that we received:

1. The Father Himself reveal His deity to us – Matthew 16:17 – we have that great privilege of knowing Christ through the Father. John 6:45 It is written in the prophets, ‘And they shall all be taught by God.’ Therefore everyone who has heard and learned from the Father comes to Me.

2. We are God’s temple – Matthew 16:18 – according to God’s grace, we are founded on Christ Jesus. 1 Corinthians 3:11 For no other foundation can anyone lay than that which is laid, which is Jesus Christ.

3. The binding and losing power was given to us – Matthew 16:19 – this means bidding and forbidding according to the will God. John 20:23 If you forgive the sins of any, they are forgiven them; if you retain the sins of any, they are retained.

We are all privileged to receive all these perks by means of our faith, obedience and love to our Lord.
My trust and knowledge to our Lord increases day by day.
