THE MESSENGER
By Rev. Oliver Castro Mutuc
Malachi 3:1 says: “Behold, I send My messenger, And he will prepare the way before Me. And the Lord, whom you seek, Will suddenly come to His temple, Even the Messenger of the covenant, in whom you delight. Behold, He is coming,” Says the Lord of hosts. And then He came and the following were evident:
1. He purified us – Malachi 3:2-3 – He purged us like gold or silver. Zechariah 13:9 And I will put this third into the fire, and refine them as one refines silver, and test them as gold is tested. They will call upon my name, and I will answer them. I will say, ‘They are my people’; and they will say, ‘The Lord is my God.’”
2. Our offering were pleasant to the Lord – Malachi 3: 4 – by doing it with righteousness. 1 Chronicles 21:26 And David built there an altar to the Lord and presented burnt offerings and peace offerings and called on the Lord, and the Lord answered him with fire from heaven upon the altar of burnt offering.
3. He will judge the wrong-doers – Malachi 3:5 – for not having the fear of God. James 5:8-9 You also, be patient. Establish your hearts, for the coming of the Lord is at hand. Do not grumble against one another, brothers, so that you may not be judged; behold, the Judge is standing at the door.
Nobody can stand the Messenger when He comes. He is like a refiner’s fire and like launderers’ soap.
I will always offer my body unto the Lord purified, holy and acceptable to Him.
