OVERCOMING REJECTIONS
By Rev. Oliver Castro Mutuc
Matthew 13:53-58
Matthew 13:58 says: Now He did not do many mighty works there because of their unbelief.
The doubt of the people will hound us whenever we do our ministry. This is a scheme of Satan to stop us as we serve God. They will strike us on the following basis:
1. Our Educational Status – Matthew 13:54 – our wisdom and knowledge is in question but God has taught us this so don’t worry. Acts 4:13 Now when they saw the boldness of Peter and John, and perceived that they were uneducated and untrained men, they marveled. And they realized that they had been with Jesus.
2. Our Social Status – Matthew 13:56 – even our background will be in question that is why we need to draw near to God always. Isaiah 53:3 He is despised and rejected by men, A Man of sorrows and acquainted with grief. And we hid, as it were, our faces from Him; He was despised, and we did not esteem Him.
3. Our Family Status – Matthew 13:55 – even our family will not be spared of criticism. John 7:41-42 Others said, “This is the Christ.” But some said, “Will the Christ come out of Galilee? Has not the Scripture said that the Christ comes from the seed of David and from the town of Bethlehem, where David was?”
Many will question our abilities and will reject us but God is our mentor and trainer that is why we are effective and without fear.
Rejections are always there but I have a big God that is always helping me, so I don’t have to worry.
