DO YOU LOVE ME?

John 21:17-25

John 21:17 says: He said to him the third time, “Simon, son of Jonah, do you love Me?” Peter was grieved because He said to him the third time, “Do you love Me?” And he said to Him, “Lord, You know all things; You know that I love You.” Jesus said to him, “Feed My sheep.

God likewise is asking that question to us. How can we show our love to God? We can show it by heeding to His powerful words:

1. “Feed my sheep” –John 21:17 – we should always be instrumental in sharing the gospel to other people especially the unbelievers. 1 Peter 5:2 shepherd the flock of God among you, exercising oversight not under compulsion, but voluntarily, according to the will of God; and not for sordid gain, but with eagerness.

2. “Follow Me” –John 21:19 – we should always do His will in our lives. Deuteronomy 5:33 You shall walk in all the ways which the Lord your God has commanded you, that you may live and that it may be well with you, and that you may prolong your days in the land which you shall possess.

3. “If I will that he remain till I come, what is that to you? You follow Me.” – John 21:22 – God detests murmuring, we should obey at once. Romans 2:6-8 God “will repay each person according to what they have done.” 7 To those who by persistence in doing good seek glory, honor and immortality, he will give eternal life. 8 But for those who are self-seeking and who reject the truth and follow evil, there will be wrath and anger.

Loving God and loving people should always be in our hearts and actions.
I am called to love God and likewise to love His people.
