DEATH CROWNED WITH GLORY AND HONOR

Hebrews 2:9-18

Hebrews 2:9 says: But we see Jesus, who was made a little lower than the angels, for the suffering of death crowned with glory and honor, that He, by the grace of God, might taste death for everyone.

We all know that by the blood that caused the death of our Lord Jesus Christ is the only solution for the multitude of sins of mankind. And by His death we received the following:

1. He brought many sons to glory – Hebrews 2:10 – as the author of our salvation made perfect through suffering. Hebrews 12:2 looking unto Jesus, the author and finisher of our faith, who for the joy that was set before Him endured the cross, despising the shame, and has sat down at the right hand of the throne of God.

2. His destroyed the devil – Hebrews 2:14 – that the devil who had the power of death no longer have a sting. Hosea 13:14 Shall I ransom them from the power of Sheol? Shall I redeem them from Death? O Death, where are your plagues? O Sheol, where is your sting? Compassion is hidden from my eyes.

3. By His death we were released from the bondage of fear –Hebrews 2:15 – for the fear of death has enslaved all of us. Luke 1:74-75 that we, being delivered from the hand of our enemies, might serve him without fear, in holiness and righteousness before him all our days.

By his love He became obedient to the point of death, even the death of the cross for our salvation.

Whenever I feel tired and down I will always remember what Christ has done for me by His death.
