"STOP COMPLAINING"
By: Rev. Oliver Castro Mutuc
Numbers 11:1-11
Num. 11:1 says: Now the people complained about their hardships in
the hearing of the Lord, and when he heard them his anger was aroused. Then
fire from the Lord burned among them and consumed some of the outskirts of the
camp.
We
all know that God hates complaining or murmuring. In this situation, God sent
fire and some of them were consumed. Here are some verses that will keep us
from complaining:
1. Always think positive – you have to look
closer on a negative situation and you will see positive things in it. Philippians
4:8 Finally, brothers, whatever is true, whatever is honorable, whatever is
just, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is commendable, if there
is any excellence, if there is anything worthy of praise, think about these
things.
2. Be grateful – in every circumstances and
sufferings, thank God. Philippians 4:6-7 Do not be anxious about anything, but
in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be
made known to God. And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding,
will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.
3. Be sober minded – keep calm and don’t
panic. 1 Peter 1:13 Therefore, preparing your minds for action, and being
sober-minded, set your hope fully on the grace that will be brought to you at
the revelation of Jesus Christ.
All we have to do is to focus to Jesus, the author
and finisher of our faith and He will do the rest.
I will always avoid negative things to keep me from
complaining.
